Vincent

An emo/progressive rock musical inspired by the world’s most famous painter: Vincent Van Gogh. Taking place in modern day Brooklyn, we follow Vincent as she navigates the life of being an artist in search of that ultimate goal, to be seen and heard. With book, music, and lyrics by Matt DeMaria, VINCENT is a blurry biography that holds a mirror up to the modern struggles of the artist.
VINCENT had its debut workshop production on Long Island, NY, the home of Dead Star's founders. The production included 18 local actors and a 9 piece band made up of some of the greatest musicians from Broadway and touring companies. In 2022, VINCENT had its updated concert presentation at The Green Room 42 which included some original members of the workshop production as well as new artist. In 2023, VINCENT was an award winning production in the New York Theatre Festival, winning for both Best Score and Best Direction.
